FREE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE BETWEEN HAMMOND STATION & FESTIVAL OF THE LAKES AND PIEROGI FEST
July 22-23 and July 28-30
Organizers of Northwest Indiana’s marquee summer festivals are providing a FREE shuttle bus service from South Shore Line’s Hammond Station to the Festival of the Lakes and Pierogi Fest. Avoid the hassle of navigating road construction detours, and take advantage of this great free service.
The SSL has scheduled an extra EB train departing Millennium Station at 5:10p, stopping at Van Buren at 5:13p, then making all station stops to Gary Metro Center. This train will not operate east of Gary Metro.
Passengers traveling east of Gary Metro are encouraged to board EB Train 117, which is scheduled to depart Millennium Station at 5:24p.
To accommodate early office departures the South Shore has scheduled extra eastbound departures on June 30 and July 3 – Departing Millennium Station at 2:00 pm and Van Buren Street at 2:03 pm, running non-stop to Hegewisch, and making local stops to Michigan City. These extras will not serve Hudson Lake or South Bend.
Hillcrest Road grade crossing (entrance to Town of Ogden Dunes and Portage/Ogden Dunes Station) will close on July 10, 2017 for approximately 10 days. South Shore maintenance crews will be reconstructing the grade crossing.
To accommodate an expected increase in ridership for the Pride Parade, the South Shore will operate extra passenger trains on Sunday, June 25, 2017.
WestboundWe plan to operate two extra westbound trains departing Portage/Ogden Dunes and stations west on the scheduled departure time of Trains 502 and 606.
